My Approach

How we'll work together

I don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. The right approach depends entirely on who you are, what you're carrying, and what you're ready for. My job is to listen carefully enough to figure that out — and then draw from a deep toolkit of evidence-based methods to help.

At my core, I'm a psychodynamic and psychoanalytic therapist. That means I believe that much of what drives our suffering — the patterns we repeat, the feelings we can't explain, the relationships that keep going wrong — has roots in earlier experiences and unconscious processes. Understanding those roots is powerful. It doesn't just change behavior; it changes the way you experience yourself.

But I'm not rigid. Depending on what you need, I may draw from any of the following approaches:

Psychodynamic Therapy

Exploring unconscious patterns and how your past shapes your present. This is deep, lasting work that goes beyond symptom management.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Identifying and changing negative thought patterns that fuel anxiety, depression, and self-defeating behavior. Practical, structured, and evidence-based.

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)

Combining mindfulness meditation with cognitive therapy to break the cycle of recurring depression and anxiety. Helps you respond rather than react.

Attachment-Based Therapy

Understanding how your earliest relationships shaped how you connect with others today — and how to build more secure, fulfilling bonds.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Working with the different "parts" of yourself — the protectors, the wounded parts, the exiled feelings — to bring them into harmony. Gentle and deeply transformative.

Trauma-Focused CBT

A structured approach specifically designed for processing traumatic experiences, reducing PTSD symptoms, and rebuilding safety.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Learning to accept difficult thoughts and feelings without being controlled by them, while committing to actions aligned with your values.

Narrative Therapy

Rewriting the story you tell about yourself. Separating the problem from the person. Finding agency in your own narrative.

Motivational Interviewing

A collaborative, non-confrontational approach that helps you find your own reasons for change — especially valuable in addiction and dual diagnosis work.

Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT)

Focusing on improving your current relationships and communication patterns to alleviate depression and anxiety.

Experiential Therapy

Going beyond talk. Using in-session experiences, role play, and guided exercises to access emotions that words alone can't reach.

Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)

When you need results quickly. We focus on what's working, amplify it, and build concrete steps toward your goals.

In every session, regardless of the specific approach, you'll find the same things: genuine warmth, honest feedback, deep listening, and an unwavering belief that you have what it takes to move through this.

If you're unsure which approach is right for you, don't worry — that's my job to figure out. All you need to do is show up.
